1.     Approval of agenda

2.     Matters arising

·       Aisling ni Chuinn has been paid the money she was owed since the last meeting.

·       Chairman to draw up race organisers guide. This is still outstanding.

·       International Team Managers Report from 2006 World Championships and World Cup events. Report and accounts received. The accounts were approved by the WWR racing committee and the ICU were contacted back in early September to process payment of the International grant. We are currently awaiting the payment of the International grant so that it can be distributed to the competitors.

·       Calendar was finalised and distributed with Liffey Descent entry packs. However, there are still two events with potential issues.

a)      Castleconnell race is still not confirmed as we are still in the process of gaining permission from ESB to run the event. A fall back venue is required in case it is not possible to run the race at Castleconnell. The Inny was deemed the most suitable option and was chosen as the fall back venue. Confirmation of race venue is required ASAP as there are apparently paddlers from Britain intending on travelling over for the event.

b)     Barrow Wild Water Race. This race was marked on the Calendar as a Thomastown Paddlers event. The secretary is to contact Darryl Audoire from KACC to see if they may organise the event. Paul Murphy, Ken Boland or Roger McClure may also be possible candidates to organise the event.

·       Website – Chairman to contact Feargal Walsh to progress – still outstanding.

·       Coaching – the proposed level 2 coaches assimilation course promised before the end of the year now does not look likely, it appears to have been postponed until 2007.

3.     Finances:

The Treasurer presented a list of recent transactions and will revert with a balancing statement after the weekend. The International grant money has still to be deposited in the WWR racing committee account by the ICU. As soon as this is deposited, cheques will be written to the team members.

In addition to this, the race proceeds from the Liffey Series are approx. €250, all of which was donated to the WW Racing committee by the organising clubs.

We will know the exact financial situation after the weekend. Discussions regarding expenditure were had – see proposals below.

4.     Equipment:

·       Replacement bibs have been ordered. They are currently in the US, awaiting delivery to Ireland. 25 bibs were purchased, some with numbers to match the ones missing. Several un-numbered bibs were also purchased and these can be printed on if required, i.e. if more bibs are lost.

·       It was decided to purchase two throw bags to put in with the race organisers pack/kit.

·       The ctte. Printer is currently not working.

·       A pair of two way radios/walkie talkies is to be considered for purchase for the race organisers kit.

·       The ctte. Decided to purchase one Fastwave kayak to evaluate the suitability of these kayaks for use.

·       A new usb lead for the ctte. video camera is to be purchased.

·       A megaphone is to be considered for purchase for the race organiser’s kit.

·       It was suggested that printed start sheets be included into the race organiser’s kit to make life easier for race organisers – particularly those who are not used to organising WWR events.

5.     AGM & Prizegiving:

A date of Friday 17th November, at 7.30 PM was suggested. The venue is to be the ICU headquarters in ParkWest. The Secretary is to request use of the ICU premises for the evening in question and circulate notification of the meeting and call for motions.

Two medals are to be purchased. One for outstanding contribution to the sport of Wild Water Racing, the other for the best run race of the 2005/06 season.

6.     Scorff International Wild Water Race, February 2007.

The event was discussed. Notification of the event is to be sent out to Wild Water News. More information is required as to whether the event is Open Class C or by invite only before it is known whether entries have to be handled by the committee.
